Kicking I

Unforgettable lessons and unforgettable people. They was a man who work for a large well known company for over thirty years, a health insurance company mind you. He was out on medical leave for a month having surgery and when he came back they had shut down his whole department, laid off everyone and he was told that he still had a job and could keep one employee an assistant and giving a budget. My friend being a young and impressionable saw how everyone was treated taught the assistant position offer through and ask for a pink slip. Mary was a recent graduate, smart, resourceful and brilliant she did not want settle and commit to the company, income or position and beside her mother was ill and would rather help her out. Their was a man who started working for a company, the outgoing manager did not trained him and wanted nothing to do with him. Five years later he was still on the job working with a lot of "lazy temps" who were not well invested in the company or department. His wife was battling cancer and he ask to work part time in the office and majority of time work at home, he was denied because he did not know the right people or have the right connections. Hi wife died a year later and all John had was his job and his on going battle with diabetes. One year later after the death of his wife he was trying to put together a team of hard working permanent employees they fired him and one day later on a weekend away with friends doing his favorite activity he died of a heart attack.
